I think the current 3 series sedan is the worst looking sedan in its class (comparing to G37, IS, C, A4). Yet the coupe is great looking, second best after the A5.

This rendering looks like an improvement over the current sedan, but I still want to see the coupe.

eh im not sure how i feel about bmw's new designs lately.. its just not as attractive as the older models imo..

If you really like those other more then it will lose appeal. The modern lines of this 2nd IS not overdone has plenty of appeal for years to come. I am biased but the 350 offers such a package, it's just a clean car.

Default Next generation BMW 3 series
I scanned these from last month's Auto Motor und Sport. According to the article it has been confirmed that the next 3er will have a 3-cylinder turbocharged engine and two 2.0 turbo 4-cylinders with the more powerful version producing 245-horsepower. A 316i will also be offered gaining the motor from the current MINI.

Other engines:

Gasoline

323i (204-horsepower)
328i (258-horsepower)
335i (306-horsepower)

Diesels

316d
318d (150-horsepower)
320d (184-horsepower)
325d (204-horsepower)
335d (286-horsepower)

As big of advocate for 4 cylinder engines as I am, a 3 cylinder just seems so weird to me.

nothing is real in this thread. all conjecture. the drawing in the OP is ugly as hell.

however, it does look like bmw is taking a page from the audi handbook- making S, M, L sizes of the same car.
