Non-hybrid Lexus models, though, have the same coverage as other upmarket Japanese-brands, such as Infiniti and Acura. I think all three brands are, in general, 6/70 drivetrain and 4/50 bumper-to-bumper.

Some of the hybrid parts on your 460H (and other hybrids) have warranties that are not only just Lexus policy, but Federal law. The battery packs, for example, are 8/100 by law; some parts may be even longer than that.

My family has a 04 RX330 FWD, a great crossover SUV. Lately my sister needs to buy a lot of IKEA furnitures and I helped her moving all the boards and stuff, very handy. I highly recommend one. I think RX350 would be good enough, the extra money of the hybrid version could get you lots of gas.

I would highly recommend a RX400h. I love my RX. It certainly beats the rest of its class in an overall category. But the gas mileage is very disappointing. I realize that the 350 gets a little bit better gas mileage but that still isn't very good considering I get around 13-17 MPG around the city. I have seriously considered selling the RX and purchasing a 400h immediately afterwards. The cost difference is not too large and it also offers more features. More power, technology, and better mileage.

Given that choice, RX400h for sure.

Have you looked into the BMW X5? Cause that is pretty sweet too.

I'd have never thought to suggest the Hyundia but after sitting in every small & mid size SUV at last months auto show (IMHO) it is def the best bang for the buck. 28k for loaded limited AWD V6 @ 3.9% is damn good but it's hard for me to preach practicality since my GX 470 & 01 C4 911 conv. have taken up the garage for the last 5 years.
I hadn't really considered a Vera Cruz because I thought it was significantly bigger then the RX. It looks more like the RX (and better then the santa fe) but with the 3rd row seat it seemed huge. May have to drive one but knowing she wants the RX badly & I like them too, it will probably be the pick.
I'd seriously look for a used Highlander. It's essentially the same underneath as the RX. If you get the limited, it's still pretty luxurious, with a Hybrid available, plus the 3rd row that the RX doesn't have.
