The new Taurus is an outstanding car. In person, it has lots of presence with its substantial body. I can't believe it wears the Taurus name.

It doesn't just have potential though, it's already great from the factory.

We just can't expect high sales numbers like past Taurus's because this is a new class. The Fusion fills the shoes the Taurus once wore. This is the full-size pre-luxury class as the Buick Lacrosse is.

I like the Taurus and sometimes feel I should have bought one over the ES.
However with Taurus being 11" longer than the ES and a first year model,I went with the ES.
Maybe next time.

^^^
It's only the first model year of the Ecoboost engine, which is one of the reasons I passed on the MKS. (That, and the lousy trunk opening and spotty 1st year reliability of the MKS in 09.) As for the Taurus, I actually prefer the more conservative body style from last year.

A lawyer I know in Lansing was very interested in getting a SHO, but didn't want to deal with any of the local dealers. A buddy had the same problem, but he was willing to drive the 45 miles to my local FLM dealer.

If you had told me 5 years ago that I would ever like Ford's lineup I would have thought you were crazy.

I like the SHO, but in the end it's a large vehicle. That powertrain would make more sense in the Fusion, where presumably it could be more affordable and capture the right market. Nevertheless, Ecoboost is doing what it was intended to do. I am interested to see what they have up their sleeves for Ecoboost 10 years from now.

I think the SHO looks great in person with the 20s. Ford really did good with it.

When ever I see the new Taurus I feel that Ford is starting to heat of the styling. Its sedans were generally bland in the styling department

I have to give a lot of respect to this Ford. The Taurus is outstanding!

In Canada you can option the car to up $51k MSRP (Non Taurus SHO). That puts it into ES350 territory at $52k for the price.

IMO you no longer need to get into premium cars for the great high quality well made cars...I just look at the cars like the Genesis, Taurus, Flex, Ram, and Sonata...and IMO there are ahead of Camry, Avalon and Tundra....not near premium car levels but IMO they are somewhere in between some Toyota's and luxury cars.

Kudos to Ford for doing a great job!

I actually had the new sho taurus as a rental for a few days and I must say I was quite impressed. Exterior looked great and the handling was very reponsive.

Wow! I've need seen the Taurus look like that. I did notice however, when I first heard they we're bringing back the Taurus that they have made a big improvement on the car and engine. Right when I heard "Taurus", I was like..."No Way!" But now, since they have that EcoBoost V6 as an option.....it makes my IS look like a sissy.
