so the Viper doesn't even have ABS?!?!?!?!.....what a POS.....!!!

 

Ouch, I don't see it as a fail though, he got caught up just like any of the other 5 cars that were blinded by the sun.... Pretty sure that wasn't the end of that pile up....

 

I blame it on the floormats or stuck accelerator pedal. Certainly couldn't be driver error.

Yep! That kind of accident, although his fault, can happen to anyone. It's a very common error.

 

Most race cars don't. Believe ABS introduced in 2001 GTS. That red GTS was probally a 1998 model. I also don't see this as much of a driver error, this is just a crappy accident; sad to see a beutiful exotic car ruined.

Driver error IMO.. Should have done the speed limit when coming into heavy traffic like that. Instead he chose to weave in and out and drive like an idiot..

 

I could just as easily take a jab at your Corvette for using transverse leaf springs, what's your point?

How does not having an ABS system render the pre-2002 Viper a piece of *****? No traction, no ABS, no fancy stability. Just you and the car. Hate on it all you like but there's plenty of enthusiasts and Viper owners who appreciate the purity.

 

WOW what a moron. No ABS and no traction control on the Viper makes it a big dumb car.....just like most older american muscle cars. All straight line power but with less control than you get from any competitor

 

Lack of ABS has little to do with that accident. I watched a similar accident on a 5 lane surface street with a center turn lane. Some guy was passing traffic on the right and came to a bridge with a stop light beyond it. He kept shifting over one lane to the left to avoid an accident and ran out of lanes. He ran head-on into some poor woman driving along in the right lane on the opposite side of the road.

 

I am sure it may have stopped sooner. I am pretty sure he would have still hit the car but not that hard.
