Can you believe this is actually selling?

Just today, Ray LaHood makes another brilliant commentary. Maybe he needs to be renamed Captain Obvious? But seriously - what could car manufacturers do to make people pay attention to their driving when they have a cell phone screaming at them. Does anyone remember the idiot in Marseilles who killed a cyclist because she had to feed her Tamagotchi?
A 27-year-old French woman, driving near Marseilles on 5 April, killed a cyclist and injured another after she was distracted by her Tamagotchi virtual pet, attached to her car key ring, which started to send out distress signals. She asked a companion in the car to attend to the electronic ovoid, but in the confusion she failed to see a group of cyclists on the road ahead and slammed into the back of them. The popular Japanese toys send out electronic bleeps when they need "feeding" or "cleaning". If they are not looked after, they "die".
Is our species doomed to continue this slaughter of inattentive driving?

This can only work if the car is driving in a completely straight line, the laptop would slip of at the slightest movement of the steering wheel. this could be handy when parked.

^^ I pretty sure it was, but we all know some idiot will try it while driving

With that said, didnt u guys read the piece about txting and talkin on the phone not being as dangerous as we thought? I mean yea you should not do it, but there hasnt been a hike in accidents since their introduction;

people are just bad drivers anyway. Seems like we (they, i take driving seriously) are easily distracted naturally.

With that said, if I see anyone driving while typing on laptop (which requires two hands) I will personally give em a derrier whooping

Is this for real????

I loved my Laptop Steering Wheel Desk so much I got one for my 90yr old mother. She is an avid crossword puzzle fan and now she can work on them while she is driving back and forth from bingo at the senior center. One cautionary note be careful of those jerks that stop at yellow lights, my poor mother rear ended one and the airbag drove the desk back into her stomach which ruptured her spleen, well after a short down time I'm glad to say she is back on the road and cranking out those NY Times crosswords once again. Thanks Laptop Steering Wheel Desk you have made my mothers life more complete.

If ever accidents and incidents occur because of this, well........then the reasons are obvious.

Charles Darwin would be so proud
