I don't think it's too bad looking.

That said, I'd probably take a GTI/Golf TDI over this A1.

I know this has been debated over and over, but the HS isn't even remotely based on the Corolla, but rather the Toyota Avensis.

Hey, relax over there. Just a little light humor. We all know what it is based off of. It still comes off Corolla-ish (not Lexus like) to me, but lets not get to far off topic.

Midnight snack. T-bone and A1.

You know that Audi wasn't thinking when the decided to call the car the A1. Obviously, it follows their nomenclature for cars, but they could have taken another route like they did with the TT.

Design wise, it's a big "NO" from me. If VW could design a good looking hatch like the Golf, why couldn't Audi design something better? This car just looks cheap to me. If they bring it to the US, how are they going to price this?

Thanks, but I'll take a Mini Cooper any day over this.

I agree with others' sentiments that this should just be branded a VW but then a few key Audi styling trademarks would have to be switched to VW (headlights, grill, ect.). So we have VW which offered a top line luxury car [Pheaton], and then Audi offering a sub-compact. Imagine if Toyota and Lexus pulled that type of marketing. Just think, a Toyota LS600hL and a Lexus Corolla.

That said, Europe is a whole different market. They pay top dollar for premium small cars. Americans don't. so this type of thing probably makes sense to them. there's a reason it's not coming here. I wish they would bring it here as a VW though and cheapen it up a bit (sub $20K).
Key word here is premium. Sorry, but this does not look like a premium small car to me. The interior is basically no better than a Golf or Jetta.

The exterior leaves a lot to be desired.

I honestly don't see how European customers will buy this over a Mini, or Fiat 500, or a Golf, or even a 1 Series or A Class.
