Question M3 short shift kit

I know there are a fair number of M3s on here or people who have had M3s and just knowledgible people in general and since the bimmer forums are not nearly as active I thought I'd ask here as well.

Which SSK is the best? (and why)

Or maybe also, for those of you that have SSKs on something else, which manufacturer has done well for you?

ask the bimmer forums. The guys here dont have as much BMW knowledge let alone tuning parts knowledge for BMW aftermarket parts

Sounds like you know it too. you just said it yourself...a couple of people. On a BMW forum there are hundereds of people who have this info You have to ask a couple of friends. Why not ask a guy who actually knows what he is talking about directly and where he can get many different opinions and ask questions easily? So yes bcause its a Lexus forum there will generally be less BMW info here No matter how many guys on this forum pine in and say they had an M3, there will be more on an M3 section of a BMW forum. Also there are many active BMW forums. Club Lexus isnt the only good source for BMW info....and its definetly not the best. I cant believe you are arguing this point

Congrats Fay on your new M3. E46 M is my favorite M3 ever build even though I personally own a E92 M3.

As far as the SSK goes, a lot of E46 guys like UUC SSK.

E46fanatic.com has a lot of info about your generation M3. bimmerpost is gear towards newer gen such as E90, 92.

Hey Fay, congrats on the M3. I would recommend the Auto Solutions SSK 40% shifter, clean, all the way around. I used it in my friends and will be ordering it for mine. The UUC SSK is also a nice kit, but I have heard better things about the Auto Solutions, not a ton better, but better.

You also can go the economical way and order the BMW Performance SSK.

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

It is the cheapest at about $120, rather than $400 for the other guys and can be had for even cheaper if you just get the Shift unit. Great reviews off this set up as arguably the best bang for the buck.

Good luck.

Stay away from e46fanatics.com unless you are looking for the fake carbon fibre sticker to put on your roof or the 25mm spacers to go with the 22inch wheels.

I just wish we as Lexus owners had the kind of online resources as the BMW guys. Club Lexus is great. Lexus owners club no so much. Its just not active. The number of BMW forums blows my mind. I bet its got to be one of the most plentiful of the brand specific foums

^ there are certainly a lot out there, but the level of knewledge isn't always as high. I find that each forum has the popular brand everyone seems to get for each mod so it's almost like you pick your forum, you pick your mod.
