Crashing car meets with another brand
I was talking to my friend about car meets. Although he owns a 300ZX, he might go to Z or Nissan car meets with his Corvette. Do you guys think this is an automotive social faux pas?
Personally, I would like to see other cars at car or brand specific meets. It gets kinda old looking at a dozen cars that are exactly the same as your own. I'd prefer checking out different models that I'm not as familiar with.

Seems ok to me, I always end up dragging old RSX friends with me to subie meets anyways. I think it just depends on how the driver acts. Of course if you roll in looking to talk trash and race, then you're not going to be welcome.

What poll options do u want?
As one that organizes/crashes meets events its usually welcomed once there are no "tools" involved. Its a great way to find out and see in person about another car you are interested in and talking to owners about it, maybe even getting to drive them and/or getting a "hotlap".
If one attends the meet of another brand, usually is good to park in the rear or away from everyone and be polite. Its kind of annoying to have a car meet and someone parks their non brand in the middle of everything/everyone for those that want to take pics etc and see uniformity (if you drive a Lambo this is not an issue
)
I think most welcome some diversity unless its a SPECIFIC brand only event and then people not of that brand should not expect the same luxurious and treats. If you get them its a bonus.
Diversity of cars is a great thing. Cars and Coffee is a great example of it.

Crashing a meet to check it out = GOOD.
Crashing a meet to cause trouble = BAD.
Personally, I like meets (like Lexus or Ducati meets) to have other people check it out. Not everyone drives the particular brand of car in these meets, and I won't stop them from coming to praise it.
However, troublemakers are not welcome. That's why I welcome local law enforcement to monitor most meets I go to. Most law enforcement want to check out our rides too, and deters troublemakers from being so publically douche-y.

Depends on the person too I think, if it's a longtime member who maybe bought another car brand, doesn't mean we don't welcome him/her anymore...that person still brings a wealth of experience regarding the car they used to own.
but if some dude we've never seen, rolls up on some car, then they'll get dirty looks for sure.

i've actually taken my Lexus to a few BMW meets. True enthusiasts have an appreciation of well cared for cars regardless of brand. Here is my GS400 amoung some road burners @ a BMW meet this year. I've done some subtle things to the car since this meet.. Time for new pics..

i like clublexus meets, but i also like the revscene(local car community) that have different brands of cars (over 500 cars i think at the summer meet...pretty good for vancouver) nobody caused any problems. revscene usually invites the cops to come down(not to write tickets) but just be around the car community.
i think as long as everyone behaves and nobody tries to do burnouts in public or anything dumb. the more the merrier.

I don't see anything wrong with it. As a matter of fact, I drove to my first ever Club Lexus meet in a Toyota Corolla. No one gave me negativity. In fact, many of the people were warm and welcoming. In the end we're all car guys. Everyone appreciates their affinity for cars.
