One of the biggest changes for the 2011 model, from what I've read, is going from a truck-based platform to a car-based platform, which may lessen its towing and off-road capabilities some. But, of course, few people actually go off-road with their SUVs anyway....except for the Jeep Wrangler, it generally doesn't average much more than about 5% or so.

The last Sorento, BTW, was, IMO, very well-built. On reviewing it, I was impressed with its overall solidity. We'll have to see if the new model continues that trend.

Based on the posted pictures, I see only one thing I don't like.....the zig-zag shift lever. But that is a minor item, and, though annoying, not a big deal.

Very clean.

Will it have 4 and 6 -cylinder options? Or will it stay a V6 only?

The article said there will be a 4 and 6 cylinder option.

Very clean body design. Back end looks a lot like the Lexus LX or Land Crusier.
Decent interior, but I would have thrown in some wood to warm it up.

the first drive article says they're considering wood (plastic looks like to me, but hey, it is a KIA ):

oh and how about some ambient lighting

i hafta say, the design looks more unifed than the rx.

I like this design. Not a bad look at all. As Fizzboy said, this car definitely needs some fake wood.

I like the lay-out of the interior, but it looks like too much plastic !! Exterior lines are nice, I'd defintely get the 6 cyl .

Very nice, the exterior and interior is original. Hyundai can learn a lesson from its little brother, one dont have to copy to have a nice design and sometimes a simple clean design is better than one that is over done and too busy.

Hmm .. the Forte similar front end does not look too good on this. I love the Forte look but this does not look good to me.

Kia looks like they're trying to have a family resemblance in the grille.
