If the X6 and ZDX can be 5 dooor coupes, so can the MAtrix, the Mazda 3, FX, EX, Hummers and everything else
haha That's funny the sports wagon has evolved into the 5 door coupe... Soon there will be a new segment, the SUC (Sport Utility Coupe); hopefully though, it won't suck.
Whatever they call it in the marketing campaign, it is a tremendous vehicle.
When GM was tomohawking Pontiac this summer, I got one of our kids a fairly loaded 09 Vibe AWD version of this car for $18K.
The car is roomy, comfortable, has a flexible layout and does many things well.
Now that the Pontiac version is gone, Toyota has more pricing power (i.e. less discounting) as they continue to market the car.
Very few of these small 5 doors have the AWD option, with the Mitsu lancer 5 door being the most recent to hit the market.
I am glad you guys like the Vibe! I wish that Toyota had given the Matrix II a little more time in the oven before pulling it out because coming from Toyota, a hot hatch like this could have a lot of potential. Styling that requires a trained eye to see the difference over the old model, 4ATs, and iffy engines really don't do this thing much justice.
I would have liked for them to bump the base engine up to 145hp or so and offer a 6AT. The 2.4L needs to desperately be updated to the 2.5L unit now in the Camry SE, also with the 6AT. Fresh sheetmetal front and rear would be nice too. Same goes for the Corolla.

at the end, it is econobox, reglardless of what the top version price is.... 6AT and 2.5l dual vvti engine would raise the price of the car.
