Definitely aggressive for the marketplace. What was the context of the 5k? Was that the goal when the LaCrosse was being developed back in an up market and up economy? 5k wouldn't be unrealistic in that context. If the sales goal is 5k in the current down market, that's going to be tough. I can see LaCrosse moving at about 4k units a month and peaking at 5-6k in maybe the summer months but not 5k+ a month for the whole year.

Of course Lexus is mentioned over and over
. I think 65k is fair as the car is cheaper than the ES and we are all well aware of GM selling tactics.

I think main problem for Lacrosse is that it is not an Buick type of vehicle. It is Insignia is sporty, european, midsized car... a lot more like Passat than ES350.
Which means less space, less comfy than ES350, more agressive suspension, better looking (agressive) and million buttons everywhere. Somehow thats not your average Buick buyer.
They should advertise it as alternative to IS and 3 series, not ES really. Like Acura TSX basically. Heck, that car is what Acura TSX is ;-).
