Agree 100% on this here... but I'd push HARD to take the $$ and apply to the V10

Dealer will put a warranty engine in it because Audi will pay them to do that then you have the option to trade for what ever you want just try to get trade allowance for a virgin R8 not twice violated R8. I am surprised engines are a problem, is'nt this the same engine used in A8 & A6 for years?

well the owner of the dealership is in abu dhabi right now he was there for the F1 race and will be back in a couple of days, so im waiting on him and from an answer back from audi germany, to see what the outcome is for my situation, its too bad I realy do love this car and driving it was always a pleasure i looked forward to, hopefully the deal with the V10 goes through as I see it as a win win situation for both of us, I have already bought 2 cars from them in the last year and doing this as good will make me continue doing business with them, as for the person not feeling bad for my situation, im sorry to hear that, but thats not gonna help me solve my issue with car, i just wished to express my frustration because I know someone else on the forums has had problems with his R8 recently......as for the rest of you, thanks for suggestions and support, i'll keep you guys updated on what happens......... im gonna stay optimistic and crossing my fingers for a blue V10

the R8 engine is similar to the RS4 engine accept the R8 has a drysump engine while the RS4 has a wetsump im told this was done so they can get the R8 lower for that lower center of gravity but I could be wrong

You are pretty much referring to the "Lemon Laws" that we have here in the states. These laws are NOT international, and so the OP may be subject to a different set of rules regarding his situation.

I think you're probably going to have to let them give you the 3rd engine, though they should be bending over backwards for you. Now, if the 3rd engine blows, Audi should definitely be giving you a brand new R8.

Not sure I would go for the R10. It's another untested new engine from the same people that sold to 2 engines that have failed. I would probably have them rebuild the current engine.
Strike that. Just have them buy you out of the car and get the Jaguar XKR.

This is going to turn me off to Audi more. I knew the older Audis were unreliable but I guess nothings changed but the date. No matter how much you love a car or how well it performs , this will turn you the hell off. 2 engines??? when was the last time you heard anything like that from a Japanese manufacturer. Now that I think of it I don't even think I would expect 2 blown engines from an American manufacturer
