I didn't want Porsche in control and it's my opinion that the CEO would have driven the company into the ground with cost cutting. Not to mention VW is exponentially larger than Porsche, so the knowledge required in controlling the empire wouldn't come overnight.

I say thank god VW Group got Porsche, we all averted a disaster.

This is a good move by Porsche. Their lightest convertible currently weighs in at about 3000 pounds.

By comparison the Miata weighs in about 2500 pounds... in some situations it's even under 2450.

There's something to be said for a nice light weight car and Porsche used to make some pretty light weight cars... not anymore. This is them going back to their roots in a way.

No definitely not canceled. In fact recently they've been talking about how they plan on a fully electric powered R4.

I think it would be cool to use the Panamera platform to create a new 928. I thought the 928 was better looking than a 911. Bring it back VW/Porsche. They can make better usage of the money they spent developing the Panamera platform

I was in favor of the Boxter but I am NOT in favor of a model slotted below it. Porsche will lose a lot of it's panache if a bunch of little toy p-cars are running around with kids in them.

I agree and nothing matches the unique sound and feel of the flat 6 engine.

I don't know about the kids part.

A lot of rich parents bought their kids that little toy Mercedes hatchback coupe so I'm sure the same will happen with a toy p-car.
