I didn't hear anything with the GS450h.. "Turn my headphones up son"

I actually like the Audi S5 chime the best. The BMW gongs are tiring after a while. Thank goodness the volume is adjustable on it... I guess because I am so used to it lol..

lol...the Mercedes sounds like my microwave.

Personally, I dont care what it sounds like as long as its not annoying. In most vehicles after awhile you dont even notice it anyway.

from best to worst:

BMW
Lexus
Audi (new)
Audi/VW (old)
Mercedes

Everytime I start up the merc, it is really annoying. cant be turned off or adjusted. all of them are really acceptable. anyway you look at it, mercedes has the worst - high pitched and sharp

Though I find myself putting on my seatbelt before turning the car on just to try to avoid the chimes.

While the Mercedes beep is really frcking annoying at first, I've found that after a while it's the type of tone that I can easily ignore. The other ones, while not bothersome at first, I find hard to block out.

why would I need to have my car tell me that it's starting up?

Mercedes sounds like an alarm. Terrible.
I like BMW's the most. Reminded me of a Las Vegas casino.

Wow... This is pointless beyond pointless...

I don't give a crap about what the "startup chime" sounds like as long as the car sounds like this when I am driving...

Whoa flashback to the days when beepers/pagers were popular. Thanks Mercedes!

Yeah me too. My seatbelt has a sensor built into it, but the indicator light turns off after a few seconds, whether or not you buckle up or not. Guess that's 1999 for ya.
