Now, a lot of people have been very open with their distaste of the HS's design. I don't like it myself; function and form supersede design.
But that's the thing: function and form. The car's purpose is to be environmentally friendly. 85% recycleable and organic materials. Heck, even the seat cushions are made from seeds. The car could me more gas-efficient (yes, people still cry that the car "only gets 35mpg"...), but it does a pretty good job for what it is.

Yes, but even if it does a good job for what it is, you still don't love it, & respect not= love ...
I love the power & idea but the car from a styling standpoint is too boyracer. In addition, the drive does not impress me at all.. Hopefully, Lexus will improve this car next generation..

Yes, love the engine, but compared to the clean and pure IS250/350 styling, the tacked on bulging hood, fender vents and jacked-up 3rd brake light do little for the styling.
The B6 Audi S4, I though the B6's were a step in the wrong direction when they came out conidering how sexy the b5 a4/s4 looked and the a6. But if you can get by it's plain jane family sedan look's it's a hell of a performer (e46 m3 killa) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pQfKVdbNO4
Let's see:
I'm not too hot on the styling of the IS-F, Lexus should have made it look more like a regular IS. The HS250h looks too much like a Ford up front - but it's one hell of an upgrade than the Ugg on wheels - the Prius.
As for the non-Toyota stable:
Dodge Challenger - it's too big, too bloated, and modern lines+retro looks!=cool but man oh man is that Hemi badass.
The Honda Element and RidgeLine - too boxy, or with the latter too odd and angular but they are both very functional and are somewhat economical compared to your average SUV.
The past 3 iterations of the Mercedes E-Class and the current C-Class - I'm not a fan of the slanted beltline, the Fordalicious fender flares, and the odd lighting arrangement, but it's one of the better interiors Mercedes had during the Mopar era - and the new C-Class is probably the best budget Benz interior I've seen.
The 7 Series of this decade - Not a fan of its Honda-derived looks, however I am a sucker for the classical German long-wheelbase luxobarge.
