Default Audi R8 Convertible (now with V-8)

Brown is the new white...

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-....html

Easily one of the most anticipated debuts at the Frankfurt Auto Show is the convertible version of the Audi R8. The folks over at WorldCarFans seem to have gotten a hold of a selection of official Audi images of the R8. What we do know (other than the fact that it’s incredibly stunning) is that Audi will only release the convertible version with the 525hp 5.2-liter V10 engine.

What we don’t know is what is will be called. Sure, it’s a convertible, but will it be called the R8 Spider or Spyder, like the Italians tend to do, or will Audi stick to its German routes and use the efinimate ‘Cabriolet’ term. There is also the classic ‘Roadster’

Audi will officially unveil the drop-top R8 on September 15th at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Be sure to check back then for our live (and frequent) updates.

As much as I dislike convertibles, it's beautiful and I actually like the color.

It's most likely going to be Cabriolet, if their history is anything to go on.

I'm sorry, but that brown looks really bad . Also, brown exterior with white A pillars? White and brown two-tone interior? FAIL.

That is a very embarrassing interior color selection for a car of the R8's caliber.

Are they aiming for the 60+ age group with such a color selection?

I don't think the A pillars are white, I think they're chrome.

Regardless, a two-tone brown and chrome exterior is not very appealing , especially for a car at this level.

The exterior actually looks better than the non-convertible R8, but the interior is @#*&. I hope thats not going to be the production interior.

All the pics are with the top down. It's not hard to make a drop-top look VERY good with the top down. The problem usually comes when the top goes up...that's when the ugly stick comes out.

Think "PT Cruiser" with the top up...eeek!

It looks pretty good in person, I have a couple in my neighborhood, though I would not have picked it myself.

As for the R8, I still prefer the coupe version
