escort 9500ix. I had a V1 but returned it because you get sooo many false alarms its annoying. Even if you dont have arrows to where the cops are you are going to have to slow down any ways and you are going to look around no matter what.

I too use the V1, but you need to find out what type of gun they use in your area. If they are using Laser (LIDAR), then the detector just lets you know to pull over because you do not get any advance notice like you do with Radar.

+1 on the Passport.

I've got an 8500 that has been fantastic....saved me a lot of cash.
I can only assume that the 9500 is an improvement.

Works very well in California too, where KA band is the most common.

9500CI is amazing... it's probably the more expensive one, but it's integrated, no visible detector device stuck on the windshield.... pricey but really really worth it.

No detector will work with Instant-On Radar, especially if you're the first guy the cop zaps.

Just slow down.

passport 8500 wireless or traditional. Valentine is a pain in the *** to install and doesn't perform any better. I have had 2 passport 8500's and they have saved my *** plenty of times. It will give you about 1.5 mile warning before you can get a visual on the cop . I used to work out in the middle of the high desert between Phoenix and Tucson and used to really get the speeds up while cruising and it is amazing at how effective it is.

It really is like having a speeding pasport

+2 on the passport. tried a V1, hated the false positives in built up areas. arrows are a gimmick - i hear a beep, don't care where it's coming from, i slow down!

i have an old 7500 (still does a great job) in one vehicle, and a solo II in my other vehicle (also really great).

my wife has had hers for 6 years and it finally starting to act up . I replaced my original wireless one because I kept forgetting to turn it on when I got in the car so it did me no good. I like the wired model because it will always automatically turn on once the car is started

for top of the line, sure, but ask yourself... how much is it worth to avoid tickets and maybe insurance increases?
