I have a rear mounted setup on my mustang and i dont have any lag the only thing you really have to worry about is oil lines piping and making sure the pipes coming off the headers are wrapped you want the hottest most dense air going in to the turbos. the intake charge is much cooler too but i still have a intercooler. heres some pics i have too take some under shots when i get the time
