Default Rear mounted/remote turbos

Honestly i dont know much about these cars but i have seen several youtube videos of awesome twinned isfs.
Does anyone know of a reliable build thread for a remote/ream mounted twin turbo for an isf?

There have been some, but everything is custom, and the tuning never works.

If you are looking for a tuner car, the IS-F isn't it.

Nitrous has the most success on the ISF, but obviously it's not the same as boost that's under your foot every time you go WOT.

Isn't NOS bad for our motors?

If installed and used correctly, no, it isn't bad for the engine.

Does it cause additional wear on engine components, yes, more than likely.

Also depends how much nitrous you use, wet or dry system...... there are loads of options out there.

Having spent a fair bit of time on this forum over the past year or two, it seems there are plenty of members who use NOS on a regular basis with no mechanical issues whatsoever.

You need to buy a good system from a reputable firm. You also need to have that system installed by a reputable company with plenty of experience.

NOS is not as dangerous or risky as some people suggest. But you do need to know the risks, and understand the differences that are offered.

True.

Anything that increases power will have an effect on the longevity of your car. Factory tolerances can be exceeded to some degree, but after a certain point, you will wear things out more quickly.

As long as you are willing to accept this trade-off, then you're good to go.

Would be pretty awesome to see a twin-turbo tuned IS-F. The chassis can handle a good bit more power and I think they tranny is the same one in the RC-F, which has about 50 more HP than than the IS-F

I would go with the NOS. Good power and effective. Just make sure you get a good wet system

Pickup a Foxbody 5.0 or a 93 Cobra. Plenty of parts for the old pushrod 5.0. You can push 350 to 850 horsepower with the Hellion single turbo (and of course fully built block and fuel system)

At least that may be my next project.

How many 93 Cobras were produced? Aren't they pretty limited numbers? I was looking into a fox body as well but to do coyote swap clean notch backs are pretty hard to find though.

Rear mount turbos are poor excuses for turbo setups. They're made by people too lazy to design a proper front-mount setup and they add extra complexities that can fail(oil scavenge pump), add extra piping that results in heat and pressure loss(as well as adding a ridiculous amount of weight, especially if you wrap the pipes in hopes that you'll fix your heat loss), adds oil lines that can break and cause issues, suffer from turbo lag unless you put a small enough turbo on it because of the heat loss(which results in a less powerful car because you didn't take the time to design a proper turbo kit).
Even the biggest promoter of rear-mount turbo kits eventually went to a front-mount, and racers don't have to worry as much about turbo lag that you'd suffer on the street.

Combine this with the small 5.0L in the ISF and you're looking at a poor setup even if it was possible tuning-wise.

Hey I have a 93 Cobra (4993 produced) and I got the ISF since I felt the cobra wouldn't hold up to too much power. Everything is limiting on the cobra; brakes, suspension, chassis where the ISF is a much better car. Don't get me wrong, I love my Red 93 Cobra and it gets many more looks than the ISF.
