I used Enclosed Vehicle transport. Theyy were excellent ! Most of the companies are a rip off and a joke. These guys are "car guys", professional and on the ball. They were not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Here's the website http://www.enclosedvehicletransport.com/

this is a good site to weed out the junk ones.... http://www.transportreviews.com/dire...ypecarrier.asp

Default car shipper

My g/f and I used DAS, dependable auto shipper, three times. They did the job pretty well.

Anyway, are you going to UIUC? It is where i went for my bachelor.

I used DAS from coast to coast and my car arrived with almost no damage. I say almost no damage because I think there was a slight smear mark, but other than that car was in great shape. The total cost was about 1100 bucks. The only problem is that although I paid for enclosed carrier (about 200 bucks), there's no way of me knowing if it was actually transported in an enclosed carrier. You could use companies that use enclosed carriers exclusively like the one mentioned above or http://www.intercitylines.com/

I'm sorry, but transportreviews.com is a completely biased site that gives favorable reviews to their sponsers.

I suggest not taking their ratings too seriuosly.

I've used DAS twice in a year, they are the best when it comes to the combination of fast, safe, and cheap transportation. I would recommend them

I recently used direct auto transport. Very easy to deal with, quick, and very fair prices to say the least. My car was picked up on a Saturday morning in Kansas City, MO and it arrived in Phoenix, AZ by Tuesday morning, unloaded at 10:30 am. I will definately do business with them again.

I just shipped my car with Pioneer auto express. Philly to LA took just 6 days (Friday night --> Thurs noon). I didn't expect it to get there so fast.

Congrat for your son. ECE at UIUC is one of the top 5 in the nation.

None of my car shipping was done in enclosed but none of my car were Lexury too . On my last shipping, it was 4 months old 06 accord. it took about a week from VA to CA. When I got it here, there were some scratches on right side of the car. some on taillight, bumpers and etc. They said it was tree damage on the truck during the transportation and they took full responsibility of it as I bought insurance with them and they paid for it. Their appraiser came and appraised the damage for 1700+. I paid 970 for shipping . I went to body shop and they told me that they would fixed it for 500 but I never have it fixed till i sold it last year . Other two times, there were no problem.

It is up to you to get enclosed. since there is a risk involved, I don't know how to suggest. but make sure to have insurance from them.

I have shipped & recieved vehicles monthly for several years. Reliable is the best I have used don't recommend Pilot. If the car is clean when picked up you can prove it is scratch & ding free & if you pay for enclosed transport you can tell because it should arrive just as clean

If I am not wrong, Enclosed only protect your vehicle from weather/oil leak or spill from other vehicles/ road hazards. However, there are still some other possible causes for damage. So, you might want to speak with car shipper about more detail in enclosed shipping. hope it helps.
