D2 Autosport - Major props to Stef
About 8 months ago I bought a set of wheels from Stef at D2. I've had a problem with the 55mph shake on my '00 GS400. After 2 front end shops and lots of wheel balances the problem still exists. I asked Stef about this and he asked me to come down so he could experience it for himself.
Long story short... he spent no less than 2 hours testing things out with me and riding in the car to see what helped. He even bolted on another set of wheels up front to see if that helped.
Stef is a super nice guy and without question knows his ***** about cars. Keep it up Stef you've made yourself a loyal fan!

Not as bad but it's still there. If you remember (on the thread in NorthEast) I had the car to Camber Toe and Sinh said the front end was in good shape. He leaned towards bad hub-centric rings but Stef confirmed the rings are good.A lot of people seem to have solved the shaking issue with Daizen rack bushings which is what I am now considering. I think you had once said it's not necessary but I am SOOOO frustrated at this point.
I am confused why the IS F wheels and tires he tried seemed to get the issue under control.
It still shakes...

I'm going to take your advice and get them roadforce balanced the end of the week. Do you remember from the other thread about me going to Mavis on 110 and saying they solved this problem? Everytime the tires get balanced they feel better but a few days later the shaking comes back with a vengence.
It still shakes...

Steff's always been a stand up guy and not just because he towers me at 6 foot.
I would look at the strut rod bushings as it will seem good after balancing but will slowly move further and further back as it is driven.
It also is not easy to see as it sometimes need to be pressed hard to see the cracks with a pry bar.
Also why the F wheels may not show it is because they are lighter so the centrifical weight will throw it out of radius as it spins faster and causes them to toe out thus a vibration .
Just things to look at.
Steff's the man.

roadforce applys force to the wheels while it turns it to get the whole unsprung weight and diameter deflection .
static is a basic tire wheel balance but dynamic as in road force balance the car as well.
