Default G35 vs C350

hey guys im new here! I currently own an IS250...great car ...just decided that its time to try something new (well, used). Nothing really wrong with the IS, its just wayy too small (2 grown up kids). I figured that since this forum wont favor either one, ill get a less biased result. What do you guys think between 08 G35 and 08 C350 is a better overall car in the sense of:

1) turns more heads as u roll up to a party, more compliments (stock)

2) Daily Driver/liveability family wise (2 high school kids)

3) will keep me happy 5 yrs down the road (looks, bang for the buck)

1) G35
2) C350
3) G35

Winner: G35, but why not consider a G37S?

1) C350 - this is mostly a personal preference
2) G35 - infinity is more reliable
3) G35 - your wallet will be fatter with the G

What about another lexus like a GS?

G37 is awesome, but i want to purchase a car and a G37 would be outta my budget...lexus GS is a gud car, but i think they might remodel it so dont wanna end up with a outdated car So whats with all the hate on the benz? No one seems to like it why?

European cars just aren't as reliable as Japanese cars. It's a nice car, looks nice, but will be more costly to own. That's where the G35 will be a wiser choice, down the road.

If your main negative of the IS is the small size, you aren't really gaining much at all with the cars you listed. They are all pretty much in the same size class. I don't look at the Infiniti or Benz as anything upgraded from the IS save for the engine power. In fact, I autocrossed the new C class and it handled terrible and had one of the worst interiors I've seen in a long time.

The build quality of Infiniti's isn't as on par as let's say Honda or Toyota. I have multiple friend's with G35's from MY2004-2005 and after about 45k miles the car started takin' a complete shi*t. From transmission to electrical engine problems. I'd go w/ the Benz w/ an extended warranty.

I once sat in the old G35 sedan and honestly, the rear seat is MUCH better than the IS's...atleast I had decent room to stretch out a bit and not feel like wanting to chop my knees off....You are SPOT ON about the c class handling and interior...horrible...i mean compared to the e-class, the c class interior reminds me of my 03 civic The IS interior is really well designed and i think the G's is pretty good to

If power and performance aren't a priority I would just go with a C300 as a daily driver. C350 is completely useless IMO, quicker than the 300 but not enough to really make a difference or justify the price difference.
If power and performance are a priority, than G35.

i would pick g35 cuz benz has really went downhill since the merger with this bankrupted company named Chrylser or something. i know it has nothing to do with the merge, but that's when the quality and reliability went down. as far as room and saving more money, what about the new tsx if you dont mind the power?

i personally wouldnt go back to a euro car just based on maintainence and reliability. just look at the recent consumer report, benz didnt not score high at all.

g35 turns more heads if you ask me but it's same amount space as our is or worse, so if you want space it would be the c350...even that won't be a big upgrade. You need a suv if you want room cause all these are small size sedan

Before getting into any new vehicle, you should do as much research as you can. It's well known and documented that Mercedes has suffered reliability problems for a long time now. Checking Consumer Reports ratings, reading car magazine long term tests, and interviewing friends, has given me plenty of evidence. BMW seems slightly better, and Audi is now on the top of the three German makes (my 2003 A4 was quite reliable). Generally speaking, if you want a reliable car, you're better off sticking with the Asian brands. Infiniti has ranked pretty good overall, with Lexus usually on top.
