Default Unknown Car Spotted...what is it?

So, I was driving downtown the other day and spotted this car infront of me. Any idea what it is? It actually looked really nice. This was in Corpus Christi, TX with Detroit tags.

Good call, guys. I guessed an M-B sedan myself, but not necessarily the E-Elass.
But, the new E-Class it is. Here's a shot from a Mercedes site:

No doubt E-class.

The nice slim 3rd brake light is just like the current C-class.

It may (?) have been undergoing testing in hot, humid conditions to test A/C efficiency and condensation drainage. This time of year, Corpus Christi is one of the most sauna-bath cities in the country. Phoenix, AZ, of course, is better for hot, dry conditions.

I saw those shots on Google, and considered posting them myself, but they appear to be Euro-spec cars that may (?) or may not look the same as the American-spec versions. (American-spec models sometimes have different bumpers)

I agree, a bit of disappointment after the successful S-class and C-class. But I need to see one in person to know for sure.
