Default The other "F" models...

I remember a while back there was talk of a GS-F and then there was the awesome LF-A concept. Have these plans been canceled or just put on hiatus?

There are F-Sport modifications available for the GS by this summer, but no word on the final production models of GS-F or LF-A.

IMO, I believe the GS-F will appear for the 4th gen GS in 2011. The production LF-A will most likely debut later this year at the Tokyo Auto Show.

When your sales are down 40% and you're losing billions, building a supercar and putting it into production (although limited) is the last thing on your mind. LF-A will never go into production!

I second the thinking, I don't think Lexus will move ahead with any more F models until Toyota can move more of it's cars. Just a business decision on their part.

I agree. In this climate, Toyota needs to focus on green cars (ewwww).

the LF-A is actually entered into the Nurburgring 24 hour race with minor changes to it. some different motor tweaks and body tweaks.

With Toyota still heavily focusing on Formula 1 and actually having pretty good result this year (Pole position and P3 finish this weekend). I do think they need ways to capitalize on this, the F sub brand is not a bad way to do it, as it doesn't distract from the bread and butter Toyota, and target an audience that even in theses troubled time still have the means to afford high performance cars.

And as other have mentioned, the LF-A is still being developed/raced in plain sight... that is definitely not a bad indication that the program is still running.

We cannot forget that the IS-F was a "skunkworks" project. It was not planned. Yukihiko Yaguchi had the ***** to do it on his own. He worked on the last Supra. When it was finally presented, Lexus then gave full support.

Initial signs look good for the IS-F from a sales standpoint and enthusiast standpoint. Is clear people will buy a more hardcore Lexus at the SAME price as the competition, more in some instances.

Lexus also is aware of its older "image" and the F marque helps attract young buyers and getting attention from younger people.

With Toyoda taking over as CEO, I would thing the F marque will expand.
