Default I hate window etching!!!

alright so i bought this car (i'll reveal it when the time is right) and i signed all the papers and of them was for window etching. i didnt think much of it at the time b/c i have them on the lexus and it's kinda small.however the ones that were put on my car are bigger than i want them to be and not only that the freakin guy put them on so crooked and high up on some windows. i was thinking to myself it wasnt a big deal until a few hours laters i decided to scratch them off with a blade and some glue remover. the etching was put on the same day i decided to take them off and it looks like some of them are fading away. i actually thought about replacing all the glass since it has really dark tint and having it removed might leave scratches anyway. i was hoping there is some product out there that i can try first.

If you bish loud enough, you might be able to get them to replace it. Try some "Goo Gone" that usually works like magic for me.

I didn't think window etching could be removed. It's acid etched into the glass and quite permanent. The OP had a good idea that maybe window tinting will hide most of it.

that's what i thought, that etching would actually eat away some of the glass, so it can't be undone. isn't that the point? you want it not removable?

now if i'd paid to have it done and it's crooked or in an obnoxious place i'd be ticked too!

i scratched off most of it while it was still fresh but it's still noticeable. im hoping it can be machine buffed with a glass scratch remover.

i guess it's not actually 'etching' then, just some painted on text. if so, goof off or goo gone should take it off - i would not machine buff it!

Or is this "window etching" another overpriced dealer add-on gimmick to pretend to improve theft resistance of the car or something.....
