Lexus didn't even exist when I was in high school. Hell, Hyundai didn't even exist in the states. With that said, the nicest car in my graduating class was a very nice 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. Red, with flames (sounds tacky, but back in those days it was classic "hot rod". beautiful, custom paint, Center Lines, and a built 383.

A few I remember were a few E39s, 740/745s, E36/46s (including M3s), SL500, Viper, S500, S430, GS, Yukon Denali, Z06 (his dad a modded on so he had hand-me down mods as well), IS300s, NSX, WRXs and some other highly modded cars import and domestic cars (Camaros, Integras, Mustangs, etc., nothing I call nice but had lots of $$$ dumped into them).

Then there was the girl whose dad picked her up in either a 360 Modena Spider or or 550 Maranello (coupe) depending on the weather...

BTW I went to a public school.

wow. oh yeah, during my freshman year, some senior had a red nsx. but i heard he totalled it recently

Depends on area and state. If you were in Newport Beach, that'll probably be a normal car. If you're in a normal middle class neighbourhood where the average car is a Corolla/Civic or Camry/Accord, then those S2000s, M3s and S4s are out of place.

Yea, it's just kinda weird how people criticize others for having a nice car in high school.

I'm sure the people who were criticizing would have turned down an SL 500 or Ferrari when they were 16 if their parents bought them one.

I saw a bunch of nice cars in high school too. Anyone can afford to finance a nice used luxury car.. its not that hard if you get your parents to cosign.
My high school had a couple guys with evos and stis, bunch of bmws, benz, lexus. lots of nice cars.
Instead of worrying about how the kids were spoiled and ect, I'm focusing on how I can get myself behind a nice &faster car.

That is true, but many people get new cars, but nobody can tell if they are just a lease or actually bought it. Well I had a friend in high school who bought used cars instead of new cars so he could have more haha (most people bought brand new cars where I went). He had a X5, 350z, S4, and a C280 all under his name and allowed me to drive one whenever.

'92 sc400 and i'm called rich at my school. there are bmws (ranging from 95-2008) and other brand new cars. but i still get called rich because im driving the lexus.

I went to school in Downtown Vancouver, and only about 2 people had cars. One of them was quite rich and he had some newer Mercedes AMG...the other person had some beater. Not too common for people to have cars here in high school unless they live in the burbs...
