I like these sleek 4 doors with coupe-like rooflines. They are actually functional 2 + 2's with easier access to the backseat than a conventional 2 door coupe.
The CLS, CC, XF and to a certain extent the ISx50 are similar in concept with tight by usable backseats and sexy fastback rooflines.
I'm going to have to shave against the grain here.
I think Aston is just banking on their name, reputation and loyal fanbase to sell this poorly designed sedan. They should've kept this design for the coupes as it just looks like a flattened minivan. They didnt try at all and just took all the styling cues from the DB9/DBS line.
I love the DBS but this RAPIDE will never do it for me. I do like the Lambo Estoque(?) That was a pretty cool GT sedan.

I see your point, even if I do not agree.
I think your view above more readily applies to the Porsche 4 door-thing, in which a front engine 4 door sedan shows styling cues of functional rear-engined or mid-engined designs.

Go look at the porsche panamera and your eyes will burn
DBS is sexy as hell.......this ain't too bad either
Here's a question. as a driver do you really care how cramp the rear seats are??.. i mean from a guy's stand point, if the girls aren't slim enought to fit, they shouldn't be there at all......

I was actually thinking more about my boys. They are 3 and 4 years old right now. By the time I can afford a heavily used Aston they will be in their teens and approaching 6 feet tall.
love the car but don't love the concept...I hate how nowadays designers just use the same type of model and add two more doors, or raise and up and call it an SUV. Where's the good old days when a sedan looks completely different to a coupe? Panamera and this...they're all just reincarnations of basically the same design....can you imagine a 4 door SC400? or a coupe version of a GS400?...sorry AM, this is a first for you, a failure.

I agree with you. The car is beautiful, but the concept is just . But its not just Porsche and AM doing this. What about the VW Passat CC? MBZ CLS? Or what even makes me more mad is the BMW X6. An SUV that only seats 4!! They even have that BMW Gran Turismo in the works. Ugh, just my two cents.
Beautiful nontheless, but i'd still take a Vantage!
the more I see images of this vehicle the more I feel I want to laugh in the face of the clown who designed the new Porsche sedan. The thing looks like a 4 door 911 with an offroad suspenion
