My neighbor has a white one that lowered on the stock wheels. I love this new body. So damn classy. I just hope they infuse some ***** in the future. The motor is a little light on ponies for 45k. Still a damn beautiful car.

I think the 3.5 V6 has been updated (new intake/exhaust manifolds new cams and direct injection) to give it 300+ hp

 

Is your hood unlatched or is that the stock gap tolerance?

This is the Benz C "sport" grill, which was previously reserved for coupes only. Non Sports get the classic Benz grill. I find newr's grill attractive.

Neither grill comes close to be as disgusting as any Acura grill. Acura grills should only be compared to giant robot chicken beaks.

Yes, the new Acura grilles ARE ugly. So, IMO, are the new Audi grilles, the Chrysler 300, and the new Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart/Evo, which manages to out-Audi the Audis.

The standard Mercedes C-class grille, while I agree it is somewhat garish, I would not call ugly. I do think, though, that the three-pointed star should be put back on the hood as a stand-up hood ornament like it used to be. Where it is now, it only adds to the grilles's garishness.

BTW, Iceman, you used to be in NoVA....not far from me. Did you move to CA?

Thanks. I like it (more details below). Power is not much more than the 06 228hp vs 201hp, but definately feel that it has much more torque 221 ft-lbs vs 181 ft-lbs.

Thanks! Yes, that is my S2k CR with the giant wing in the back waiting for lift off . I wish the wing was less intrusive but unfortunately, that is how it came from the factory. From the side view it does not look too bad.

Big tri-star on the front grill is not new to MB. The tri-star on my old SL is just as big if not bigger.

I like it. I was really surprised . Even with the 18" AMG style rims and low profile tires, the ride is less harsh and smoother and the C230. It aborbs bumps and pot holes MUCH better than the C230 but it has more body roll than the 230 when push. I dont' like cushy supsension and my S2K suspension is already stiff enough without damaging kidneys for daily use, so this set up is about right. I like the steering feel on the C230 better. I think the C230 has fatter steering wheel and more direct feel. The C300 steering feel is a little vague and light for my taste. I like the C230 exhaust note much better for some reasons. Both are V6 but the 300 has a bigger engine (3.0 vs 2.5)thus more torque so my butt feeling is that the C300 is quicker. I am not sure if that is the case, but it does feel quicker due to the extra 40 ft-lbs torque. Interior, the C300 has more room. I like everything else except for the dash texture... it looks CHEAP. Fit and finishe, quality wise, over all, I think it's a big improvement over the old one.

Thanks! LOL.... it's not just the grill, it's the looks of the entire car that keep me away from Acura.

Unlike the previous C-Class where the C230 sport and C280 non-sport have totally different characters. The current C-Class, the ride on the luxury (non-sport) and the sport models are almost identical. The looks of the sport model however is MUCH better looking than the non-sport.

I did consider the 3 series and the IS, but the looks of the new C-class with AMG kit sealed the deal.
