Looks good from the front, but the rear doesn't seem to have a muscle car look but rather a Japanese style? Maybe it's just me. The interior seems like a winner. Overall still not a car I see myself driving though.
Not Japanese, the front and rear are based on the 1969 Mustang where as the last generation was based on the 1967, I like the progression a lot.
And as far as the V6 power, I read somewhere that when it is that low in a sports car, the insurance rates stay down which is maybe why?
As far as the V8 it could have more power but in the past it seems like that made the normal V8 stang have reasonable power then they would come out with an SVT or some other edition with the higher HP?
The option for a 400+ HP needs to be there, but many in the market are in the middle and do not want 200 or 400.
The replacement for the V-8 is going to be the "Eco-Boost" 3.5 liter V-6. Initial ratings are 340 hp, 340 lb ft of torque. Spin from Ford is V-8 power and V-6 economy. My guess is that there will be a special model for the introduction of this engine.
Since many Mustangs are sold to rental car fleets, I'm not sure that base engine power will have any impact on overall sales.
I guess I'm the only one that really dislikes the big flat plastic panel in the center stack then. I think that looks really cheap. Shiny, flat, *ick*
The rest of the interior looks OK. The exterior is OK, not that big a change from the previous exterior IMO and here's to hoping their 340hp 3.5L V-6 "Ecoboost" engine makes an appearance.
