I just flew into San Francisco today and had to go pick up rental car to drive to company and stay in Fremont, CA for a week

there was a nissan Versa to choose from but it had coolant light on so i didnt go for it
next best thing was Aveo or G5 coupe
i chose G5 coupe

but after i left the rental place and drove onto the hwy for a while, i noticed that right hand side of the car seems to handle bumps really harshly

i played around with onboard computer and saw the PSI readings on the dashboard

it says

FL 29 PSI FR 41 PSI
RL 44 PSI RR 44 PSI

i was like WTF!!!!!
i didnt feel much pull towards the left but the ride def seems harsh
but in the beginning i thought it was just a crappy car to begin with so i didnt think too much into it until i saw the numbers
lol

tonight when things cooled down, i saw the FL reading went down to 26 psi

now im wondering if there is a slow leak...

it was so scary realizing i was on the hwy at like 70mph with these tires

the difference was probably heat from using the car on the freeways. probably should properly inflate it asap seeing as how the rain might come back.

no surprise here, those cars are really neglected

becareful driving with underinflated tires... To much stress on the side walls will increase heat.. increase heat = boom.

Three of them are a bit overinflated and one is a bit underinflated.

Pressure rises as heat gets in the tires, so the cold readings
are typically 3-5 psi lower than the readings when hot.

I used to work in the rental car industry a long, long time ago. There are typically two different occasions when tire pressure is checked before a car goes out to a customer. They are:

1) Never.
2) When a customer reports possible low tire pressure.

TPMS is going to be really good for customers as more cars are equipped with those systems.

oh boy

the tire pressure for that tire kept dropping every single day

i ended up having to fill it up everyday
but i had enuf of it
i drove to San Jose airport last night
got them to give me a free upgrade

got a Chevy HHR
and wave the gas fee for what ive driven in the G5

good thing all that worry is gone

HHR is so cheaply made though
the lock (the pin that you pull to unlock the door from inside) on the door gets jammed by the poor clearance of the door trim hole for that pin
LOL
