2010 Toyota Prius
thus a smaller lighter version that mike talk about. with the current platform and size, it's hard for prius to hit those numbers. but a smaller 2 seater, it's very much possible
Yeah... see that's why we don't use mpg =P.... I'm sure the media just takes the UK mpg and write it down and everyone thinks the media is smart enouhg to convert into US mpg. Remember the 100mpg article?? That was in UK mpg converting the Japan 10-15 cycle directly and adding x%. If that's the case, the Prius already gets 80mpg US under the Japanese 10-15 cycle so just be aware of mpg claims.
nice looking , and a little more masculine. The previous models looked a little girly and weak. why do you have to look like crap to save gas. Why cant the toyota make the prius look like the tesla
^^ to make it as slippery as possible. why do you think the honda Clarity and even their new insight looks like the prius? it turns out that this shape is the best for optimal fuel economy

Toyota: Separate Prius brand not a 'go'
Rumors from LLN that a separate Prius brand are "a go" are actually nothing more than a maybe. According to Toyota's own blog, the automaker can confirm that it's considering a hybrid-only brand that would see separate space in dealerships -- much like what is already being done with the Scion brand -- but a final decision has not yet been made and Toyota's not even sure what products would fall under that new brand name, besides, of course, the Prius. Rumors, though, abound regarding new hybrids from Toyota, including Prius-like hatchbacks both a bit larger and a bit smaller than the current model alongside a hybrid price-leader to do proper battle with the new Honda Insight. Now, if they'd just address those rumors of an 80-mile-per-gallon Volt-fighting hybrid that have also been swirling around the interwebs...

I just wish Toyota would make it a real car to drive. Enough of this "feather-touch" steering or "throw you to the door" suspension. There's no reason you have to give up driving just to get 50MPG, as the 2009 Jetta TDI shows.
