Default Stolen Vehicle Slowdown (R) Technology

"Stolen Vehicle Slowdown" is a GM registered trademark that connotes a procedure that will bring a stolen vehicle to a controlled stop by disabling the accelerator via OnStar's Vehicle Assistance service. This service will be available on over one million 2009 GM vehicles. It's about time!
This should be standard on every vehicle sold in the US with OnStar type technology so we can avoid highspeed chases that endanger law enforcement and citizens alike.
Any thoughts?

Maybe then the car can go into limp mode until it can re-establish onstar.

Resistance is futile.

I'm guessing the Onstar operator will disable the cars accelerator only when asked by the police at a specific time right? I would sure hate to have it disabled on the freeway right in the middle of afternoon traffic.
