Default Chevrolet Volt Interior, Complete Exterior Leaked

Shots of the Volt's interior leak onto the web

Everyone wants to talk about the Chevy Volt these days. General Motors' revolutionary new car is just a few years away, but details have been slowly leaking out to the public.

A few weeks ago, GM revealed some teaser exterior shots of the Volt. While they didn't provide much insight into the overall final design of the vehicle, they at least gave an idea of what the front light cluster/grill will look like on the production vehicle along with its softer lines -- a break from the sharp angles of the concept vehicle.

Today, however, it appears that an interior shot of the Volt was leaked online. If the shots are indeed of the production Volt, it's quite a departure from the traditional center stack we are used to seeing in modern vehicles. The center stack is almost iPod-esque with flush, touch-sensitive buttons within a shiny white housing. HVAC and audio controls are all housed within the white center cluster.

The main cluster is topped by a flip-up LCD display which shows powertrain/battery status. In the end, the interior -- or rather, what we can see of it -- looks to be high-tech without going completely space age like the Toyota Prius or Honda Civic Hybrid.

And if the shots of the interior weren’t enough, GM-Volt.com has now posted pictures of the Volt from just about every angle. The vehicle was spotted on the set of “Transformers 2” and was quickly caught by spy cameras. While the exterior images are quite blurry, it’s very easy to make out the shape of what is most likely GM’s most significant vehicle to come to the market in years.

The Chevy Volt can travel 40 miles on battery power alone thanks to its large lithium-ion battery pack. Once the battery level drops below a pre-determined level, a gasoline engine takes over to charge the batteries and keep the vehicle moving. The Volt can also be plugged into a household outlet for overnight charging.
Not bad, not bad at all....now someone leak the pricing!

Not sure how I feel about a white shiney plastic interior.

Actually, that was a lie. I know how I feel and I hate it. That looks cheap.

First thing I thought when I saw that side profile picture was Scion tC, to be honest.

Overall, I am really thinking this will be a game changing car for GM.

So far I've liked everything that I've seen and heard about the Volt. I would definitely consider getting one as a DD when they come out.

White shiny surface reminds me of an iPod. Although it's fuzzy, I'm liking the exterior, but I don't know about those contrasting side mirrors.

I like it and from what I see it looks very nice and high quality. Most people who buy hybrid only models seem to want a different and high tech interior and they are getting it with the Volt, hopefully this model will pump some life back into GM.

That center stack doesn't look too appealing to me...

Interior looks like one of those old ugly Apple computers. I really like the exterior so far though. Everyone keeps saying this car won't come cheap though.

i thought the whole purpose of having buttons on the center stack was so you didnt have to take your eyes off the road. I hope they do something so drivers can operate the controls by feel.

i honestly think this car is the biggest propaganda scam... it doesnt do anything new.. yet somehow they dont have powerful enough batteries to run it... yet the tesla roadster can go something like 250+ miles on a charge.. and is yet somewhat affordable.. yet fast

Hmmm... Interesting... I'm actually liking the styling.
I just hope that when the entire package is released and announced that it's not one huge letdown. I had my hopes built up for the Hybrid Tahoe and that was a huge disappointment in my eyes... I'll be keeping my eye on this car...
