CTS Coupe spied with hardly any camo

Hooray for Cadillac. I like it. They started the CTS coupe after Lexus talked about an IS coupe and appear to have beaten Lexus to the punch.
I'll say it again, IMO there will NOT be an IS type coupe. I don't believe it.

The Corrado has always been my favorite Volkswagen and the only one I would consider owning aside from the Phaeton. I remember seeing one parked in my neighborhood one time when I was young and the owner took me for a ride and it was pretty fast from what I remembered. It had a unique VR6 which gives the benefit of a inline six but will basically fit in the space of a inline 4 or small v6. The Corrado is a very sharp looking car and one of the best up level performance hatchbacks I have seen.
I don't think the CTS really resembles the Corrado too much though. The one thing I think you are pointing out and which I don't like is the high chunky hatchback like rear. I wish it was lower on the CTS and more or less somewhat resembled a G35/35 couple profile or a 3 series coupe or A6 coupe profile. Not sure how the public will respond to that high rear end but you have to give it to GM/Cadillac for showing a coupe not too long ago and then saying they will build it and it seems almost finished. Why can't Lexus do that with a sleek IS coupe or Acura do that with a new CL/TL/RL coupe? All I hear is it is probably coming or we need to research or test the market and they are taking forever instead of just building what buyers want which gets annoying after awhile. This CTS coupe is going to give Cadillac and GM a huge boost in image even if it may not sell all that well and it was a very good decision to go ahead with it.

Good point. My guess, like yours, is that the two were developed off of the same general platform (but not body, as you put it....the platform/chassis would be the same, but with different bodies).
