Here are both vehicles in action at their respective driving event/autocross.

That new RX above looks hot. Hope Lexus does not deviate from that design..

Watching SUVs "in action" is like watching Sumo Wrestlers trying to ballet. Ridiculous.

You didn't grow up with the cars of the 1960's and early 70s like I did. Though they didn't sit as high as today's SUV's, many of the full-sized cars of this period would dwarf even today's big SUV's in length/width, with the possible exception of the Ford Excursion.

Here's a classic example of BIG.....the 60's era Lincoln Continental. Driving these cars was like piloting a battleship.

How about the MDX or RDX? They seem to fit the bill of what she's looking for, and she can pocket the money she saves for a nice vacation or something!

If anything, the RDX and X3 are "female" cars. they looks feminine without a woman driving it.

some say that about the RX but i dont see it.

The new Toyota Venza might fit what she is looking for, if she doesn't mind stepping away from the luxury brand

My wife has an RX400 and absolutely loves it. It is a great machine, great mileage, very smooth driving due to the CVT transmission. Can't say enough good things about it. If it fits the mission, it is unbeatable.

I can't see picking any kind of SUV for its driving dynamics or whatever. It's a ride, not an experience. I think the Cayenne is the silliest thing on the road.

Different strokes for different folks.. Driving dynamics is a key component when it comes to safety. I rather have the wife & kids in a safe & secure vehicle that is not roll over prone. When that deer darts across the highway and one has to make that emergency maneuver with family aboard, rest assured the occupants will be safer in a vehicle that offers stability & driver control . I took that into consideration when I went shopping.. Perhaps the OP's girlfriends seeks the same..? Who knows..

Does the RX400H have this sticker annexed to the sun visor?

The X5/X3 does not.. We can argue all day long about these vehicles but ultimately it will be the decison of the op & his girlfriend.. Hopefully, he keeps us updated on the choice and the conclusion on the decision..

I would say X5 3.0, simply because she had a 3-series and kept it for long time, so she seems to feel satisfied with the way BMW vehicle drive. Even she thought RX's test drive was nice, she might regret buying the Lexus down the stretch. Both SUVs look very modern and somehow sporty, I still think X5 is probabaly a better choice for her.
