The Stick Shift
You are right sir. It is pretty odd to have such a good engine and a wussy transmission for all cars. They should at least have a good 6MT for the ISX50 cars, including the IS-F(sorry guys)
Anyway, if you have more than two cars in your garage than you should have at least one manual car.

Have to have 1 manual trans car!
And the FJ is offered with a 6MT that gets worse gas mileage than the 5AT. I don't understand it.
Lexus should stop trying to be a jack of all trades. Lexus= pure luxury. That's what they're good at. That's how they gained their reputation so they should just stick with it. Leave performance to brands like BMW and Audi...
Wow great thread, not sure how I missed it. My 2 cents (counts at 20 bucks though)
1. Lexus manuals SUCK. I own an ES manual, I've driven SC 300/IS 300 and IS 250 manual and they all give me the runs. The IS 300 was the best then the SC. Compared to say a Honda shifter, they are bulky, they are not smooth, they are IMO a hassle. So Lexus offering a manual is not necessarily a good thing.

Yup. Lexus is the new Buick. And honestly - there's nothing wrong with that.
Oh please. Buick makes sterile, weakly powered, FWD vehicles that are boat like, even though they are smaller than they used to be. The only close to Buick from Lexus is the ES. Last time I checked Buick had no sporty offerings.
Buick is cheap semi-luxury.
