Well I think we found the main problem to this type of car; You buy it and love it so much that you don't have time to return to the Lexus forum to answer our questions!

This car is definitely the one I want when I have an empty nest.

Sweet ride. So have you had any issues with the reliability yet, being a first year model?

Nice ride! Time for some Kleemann or Renntech upgrades.

Very nice car, totally different from the S5, but I think you will enjoy it. The color combo is sick too.

Sorry I've been MIA for the past month or so. I went on two separate trips in August and have been keeping myself fairly busy.

Thanks for all the great comments. I'm glad everyone likes the car. I've had it for a bit over two months now and I still can't get over it. Reliability wise the car has been top-notch. The only issue that I am having with the car, which might actually not be an issue at all, is the supercharger. When I blip the throttle hard, the supercharger makes like a medium-pitched squeak the moment I hit the pedal. My buddy told me it is normal for the type of supercharger that it is but he is still going to check it out for me just to be safe. My mileage in the city is actually down in the single digits if I drive aggressive but is usually in the 12-13 mpg range. On the freeway I have hit 20-21 mpg. So for what it offers, I can't complain.

Thank you all again for the nice compliments.

Check out the threads on mbworld.org regarding the squeak. I think it can be remedied with the 2007-up clutch pack for the supercharger or something like that. Im very interested in getting a later year black SL55 like yours, hopefully a 2007, any chance you would divulge what you paid?

Thanks. I'm glad to see it's not just a one-off issue but actually something that has a fix. It doesn't bother me, I was just more concerned about whether it was a potential problem or not.
