I don't get this vehicle. Correct me if I'm wrong, but its based off the Corvette and yet it is very fat, though not as fat as those damn SLs. And the base costs nearly double the Corvette.

My brother and I looked at an XLR a while back. The salesman told us they customers don't want Cadillacs with manual transmissions so the XLR doesn't come with one. Now my brother and I are both in our twenties, but we were shocked. I couldn't picture my dad behind the wheel of this car with an autobox at his right hand. So whats the consensus out there? Too old to drive a MT roadster?

Very attractive car though. However, I would remove those stupid GM badges.

Back in 2000, my parents got a GM brochure in the mail with a picture of the Cadillac Evoq concept. The Evoq concept is what would eventually turn into the XLR. I took one look and fell in love immediately. Before seeing that picture, I really didn't care about cars too much, this is the car that got me into liking cars (that, plus the fact that I was getting my full license that summer) so I'll always have love for Cadillacs because of it

I actually like the XLR, but not it's price. Too much competition at that level, and it doesn't exude extravagance.

I love the Bvlgari touches inside the car.

Two years ago, they were selling at $20k off the sticker! That had me considering, until I saw its reliability scores with Consumer Report and such...

It did/does nothing for me, the concept was much nicer. Add a high price tag and an interior that belongs in a 20k car and it makes me scratch my head.

Amazing the best car Caddy makes is their entry level CTS.

I haven't seen what twaddle CR has to say about it, but this looks good to me:

SL-55 is no longer available, instead SL-63 and SL-65.

XLR-V is $100K list
SL-63 is $132K list
SL-65 is $190K list

I was not impressed with the car at all after seeing it and especially after sitting in it. It feels cheap and looks plain with serious cost cutting in a way overpriced car. The Mercedes SL is much better in every way to me. I have only seen 2 on the road or parked and I can see why nobody buys it aside from loyal GM fans with alot of money to burn. I do hope Cadillac comes out with a good 2 door sports luxury GT in the future but the XLR was a failure and they should learn from it. The interior is especially horrible and looks like an after thought which is inexcusable.
