I guess we differ in what is good and what isn't, because personally I think the Legend handles terribly. Or at least, I should say the Legend sedan, I've never drive the coupe.

Now I've spent some time over at Acura-Legend.com and have never heard of anyone claiming that a FWD longitudinally mounted engine minimizes torque steer. I do know that the settup in a FWD, AT Legend sacrafices a quite significant 20% of power. 20%, thats more than my AWD vehicle sacrafices.
Equal half shafts help limit torque steer compared to traditional transverse mounted unequal length half shafts. Its not a gigantic improvement like if oyu went to RWD, but it is very noticeable. Also, I've owned 2 automatic Legends, one with the Type 1 200 HP engine and also one with the Type II 230 HP engine along with my 6-Speed. The dyno numbers on the automatic is right in line with other automatics from the same area even from Lexus which I think is even higher than 20%. Do the calculations yourself and you can see my Lexus 250 HP engine putting down 190HP is more than 20% drivetrain loss.

There is a reason why we roaches are here. We now have Lexus cars because after the 91-95 Legend Honda/Acura stopped making really good cars and we had no choice but to move to Lexus or BMW When I talk about the Legend, I talk about it in its time and era against the cars back then. Today is a different story. Back in the early to mid 90s when I was a Legend fanatic, my other options were the 1st Gen GS300 (Don't really like that car at all), the SC300/SC400 (I actually bought an SC400), the UCF10 LS400 (Don't really like that car either), The 94-97 UCF20 LS400 (Would have bought it but I was into Coupes back then and so the Legend was a better choice). I even ended up with a 99 UCF20 LS400 which I think was over all my 2nd best car I've ever owned, but if you don't count my NSX, the Legend is the car I miss the most. I don't miss my ES300 and SC400 at all. Those cars gave me the most problems. Nothing major, just my Legends and other Lexus cars gave me no problems.

I have to disagree. I've had a lot of friends that owned the 88-91 Prelude and I have drove many of them when I worked at a Honda Dealership right out of HS back in 1990-1992. The Prelude is a fantastic car and I really like them and would have bought one myself at that time if I didn't already buy an Acura Integra. However; the Type II Legend 6-Speed IMHO is the best over all Honda/Acura Coupe ever built. If you want my order of best Honda built Coupes from the at least the time Acura was introduced in 1986, it would be the 91-94 NSX, the 91-95 Legend (Moreso the 93-95 with TYPE II and 6-Speed, but the 5-Speed wasn't bad either), the 87-90 Legend Coupe, and then the 88-91 Prelude. I helped my sister buy her 88 Prelude Si. Great car, but at that time Acura cars were clearly a step upward unlike what could be argued today.

You nailed it. After people had a Legend, there was no where to go within the brand, so people jumped ship. Everything they have made since is BELOW the Legend, outside the RL, which is nice but no "Legend".

Funny how so many people have moved on but in conversations, they will always tell me "I loved my Legend" or "Best car I ever owned".

Well I disagree. The Prelude was the baby NSX. The Legend was not, nor do I think it was close.

I guess we differ in this one. The funny thing is when I drove my NSX, I always thought how familiar it drove around town to my Legend. Part of it may have to do that both had C Block V6 engines (C30 For the NSX and C32A1 for the Legend). Steering feedback and response neither can compare. My NSX has a raxor sharp manual steering rack. Feeback and response makes my BMW 3 Series feel like driving a boat. Handling wise I would say you'd be surprised at the numbers the 2nd Gen Legend actually put out for being a FWD and somewhat heavy boat. Over all handling and driving dynamics go to the Prelude though.

As for baby NSX. I'd say that would be the S2000, but other than that I'd put the Integra Type R in that spot.

And I'd throw one more in there for your comparison.

1995 Oldsmobile Aurora
MSRP $31,995
Engine: 4.0L V8, 250 hp/ 260 trqs.
Fuel economy 17/24

Sounds like a better bargain to me.

Your argument makes no sense whatsoever. 18/23mpg back in 1995 when gas was around 0.92-0.99/gallon isn't really that bad. The Legend's design was and still is flawless along with immaculate reliability. Second the Oldsmobile Aurora? are you serious? That car was hideous as far as design goes and interior was bland. Question of the decade.....What happened to Oldsmobile?

In my opinion, I think Acura's mistake was dropping the Legend name and replacing it with a bland RL.

It looks a lot better without that funky grill. Overall, I think it looks pretty good, but it looks like they lifted those headlights from the current model Chrysler Sebring.

Let me break it down for you:

1995 Acura Legend GS
MSRP: $42,650
Engine: 3.2L V6 - 230hp/206ft-lbs
Fuel Economy - 18/23

1995 BMW 530
MSRP: $44,400
Engine: 3.0L V8 - 215hp/214ft-lbs
Fuel Economy - 17/26

1995 Lexus GS300
MSRP: $43,600
Engine: 3.0L I6 - 220hp/210ft-lbs
Fuel Economy - 18/23

1995 Mercedes E320
MSRP: $43,500
Engine: 3.2L I6 - 217hp/232ft-lbs
Fuel Economy - 20/26

Mind you all these cars are mid 15 second cars. I fail to see where the Legend lacked in power and fuel economy, especially since it was the cheapest among it's competitors.
Wow, i totally forgot the 94 530 had a small V8 in it.

I wish they had continued building the legend. I wonder what it would have been like today? And dont say RL
