I am copying and pasting from a guy that posts great stuff from VWVortex (Wimbledon) and this poll he started is a good idea.

My 2 cents, I wouldn't be caught dead in any, but the Audi Q5 is my pick.

While I know many of you would rather have a station wagon (myself included; a 335i Touring to be specific), [B]which of the luxury compact SUVs do you like best?

I have to say its pretty amazing Lexus totally continues to skip this segment, as the RX is the entry level, then GX than the LX.

Will Lexus jump in? They have said no but its hard to ignore it when everyone has done it. My feelings are the new hybrid coming next year will sway some people from these cute-utes to Lexus, if its a 5 door like the Prius.

 

you know, it's called the cute ute genre but I think it's selling just because SUVs these days are getting HUGE! The first Grand Cherokee seems about the size of the new Rav4.

Anywho, if I had to, the Acura, Audi or Volvo. That's a big IF though. I'd much rather have an Allroad.

 

The ugliest group of vehicles ever. The Q5 blows them all away, but still doesnt look that great.

A regular Audi A6 wagon or a Volvo V70 wagon is a much better option IMO. Even the Passat and Legacy wagons look better.

 

I actually have test driven the RDX, and I like it. Lots of great technology, which is one of my top priorities. It's just too conservatively designed.

For the exterior, I like the Volvo.

For the interior, I like the Infiniti.

For performance -- well, I really wouldn't care about it with this segment...

 

after driving the q7, i am hooked on audi suv.

 

I like the RDX, but I'd get the Audi Q5. That car looks the best of them all and I like the current Audi interiors.

 

that audi interior is very slick. i like the uncluttered dash, the seats look great, and it looks like there's some good leg room available width wise.

But in my eyes, Audi makes a fatal mistake in their air vent placement. if your hands are on the steering wheel at 11 and 2, your right hand will block the air coming out of the vent. only the bmw and infiniti look like they allow you to feel the air if you bump down your steering wheel as much as it will go.

the rdx is the best overall rounder. it looks good on the outside, decent on the inside, and its cheap. the GLK has presence and while its kinda ugly, its still a mercedes so it will always have that "looks good cause its a mercedes" feel to it. The bmw is just old and ugly. the Q5 is just hideous. the volvo actually looks good.

Since people see the RX as not up to X5, Q5 standards, then perhaps the RX is kinda of a sport ute. its midsized in between full sized Suvs and these cars.

I think X6 is much cuter than X3. I'd go for X6

The interiors on the Volvo and the Infiniti are just amazing!

 

1. Base price is 20k higher
2. Its bigger than these vehicles.

Thus not included.

Is it as ugly and useless? Yes.

 

ug, my god -- compared to every other vehicle here the BMW interior looks like junk, very cheap junk....I mean jesus, don't they ever try to modernize/update!?!?!
