No way.

Trust me guy's, I've considered everything and researched for a million hours and it's down to Yaris, xD, and possibly the Fit.

^^ i swear i added my high resale comment before you pointed it out in your reply

I really like the Yaris exterior (4 door), but the interior is so barren, its such an economy car.

the xD starts at 15,170 for only manual and its another 600 for automatic. Seeing as how you probably wont be getting a base one, and plus tax and fees, your looking closer to 20K than 15K

I'm with bagwell here.............and the Matrix now (again) offers AWD for those Massachusetts winters.

But if it boils down to a Fit-xD choice, just toss a coin.....they are both good, space-efficient small cars. The xD has slightly more power. The Fit has slightly better hardware and interior fit/finish.

There's only one trim level for the xD (fully loaded). Options are only transmissions, traction control, and audio.

So the full price with tax and all fees is $17K even.

As a sidenote: The Yaris comparably equipped (which is all options) is the same price and yet you end up with a cheaper feeling car (particularly interior). That's why the xD is a great value.

I just think the Matrix boarders on ugly and the interior manages to look cheaper than the less expensive xD. It also has less features and yet costs $17K for a base auto. I'd rather have a regular Corolla too.

-edit -- just read your post above mine

because of the mpg + price?

its rated at 26 city 32 hwy

and there's 2 on ebay for $18500 buy it now (discounted $1000 without even haggling)

Can you imagine if Toyota would've dropped the hybrid synergy drive in it!!?? [base is $16K would have added about $3000]

It's Honda's name for the super flexible seats in the Fit. They split/fold flat as well as being able to flip the seat bottoms up to carry tall stuff. Plus, you can move the front seats forward and fully recline to create a "lounge" where you chill in the backseat and use the front seatbacks as an ottoman.

If interior quality is important to you, then, as I noted in my last response, the Fit offers good interior materials and fit-finish for the price, although, of course, you won't get an Acura RL or Lexus LS460 for 15K brand-new.

The Corolla XLE, since you mention Corollas, is the best-trimmed Corolla inside (and the only one now with fake wood trim), but it may be a little out of the price range you are looking for.

Actually, it may be the same.

The no-haggling pure-price price policy for the Scion xD may be more than the price-negotiable Corolla.

You can probably get the base Corolla XLE for the same price as a base Scion xD...

Fit, looks better, handles better, more popular on Aftermarket parts, the list can go on.
I am a Toyota/Lexus guy, but between these too, I would vote Fit.
I would consider xB too, much bigger and more powerful, while still saves gas.
I almost bought one.

I say the Fit. If you haven't had a chance to see one, then go check it out. You'll love the Magic seats!
