New Ford Falcon

Wish we got this car, it is a nice looking car inside and out and has rwd with a twin turbo inline 6 or v8 option. It would add some excitement and desireability to the Ford brand. Australia sure does get some nice American and Japanese cars that sadly the US does not or did not get. There have been many who have easily tuned that turbo inline 6 to 500hp. Unfortunately we get stuck with Ford Fusions, 5 hundreds, Taurus, etc.

Though Holden is usually associated with GM and Pontiac, the Australian Falcon looks to me like it was done on a Holden platform.
The Falcon nameplate in the U.S. was used from the late 1950's through the late 60's, and dropped for 1970. It was a Ford-designed RWD compact. An offshoot of the Falcon frame/drivetrain, with a different body, became, in 1964, one of the most famous Fords of all time.....the Mustang.

Australia's favourite taxi, alongside the Holden Commodore. If that's the best they can do for a model change their in deep water considering Holden has completely altered their current VE Commodore series. It looks nice but still too much like an update of the current BA series rather than a completely new car. I'm sure the up market versions will be quite nice though.
Never EVER say that again... Australia gets all the crap versions of any officially imported vehicles, and when they bring in the good stuff it costs at least twice as much as you guys are paying, regardless of the exchange rate. Consider yourselves lucky
One of the more popular pick ups in Australia. My old neighbour has a one for work (roadside assistance truck).
Kinda... except it's not like the Camry in a sense that it's actually spanned across whole model ranges (i.e. based on the same platform but always seen as a different car... most people won't see the RAV4 as a spin-off from a Camry). The BA chassis (Falcon) is that sedan/wagon shape (cooking models to the XR6/8 models and FPV Typhoon), the ute and their upmarket Fairlane and LTD (I guess something along the lines of a Lincoln).

wtf is up with the pickup truck thing going on
So, it's a single chassis for multiple types of vehicles.
