2009 MB S-class facelift spyshots

Mercedes-Benz has apparently begun work on a facelifted version of its flagship sedan, the S-Class. As can be seen on these first prototype shots, changes will apparently be made to the headlights. It remains to be see whether other design elements will also be modified.
The current S-Class was introduced to the world in late 2005, making some time next year appropriate for a refresh. Although a complete redesign of major components, like headlights, after just four years is not common, Mercedes might be feeling pressure as a result of the upcoming 2009 BMW 7-Series, which has been completely redesigned.
While the headlights of this prototype are the only modified components being tested so far, it would not be unusual to see other test cars hit the road in the future with more camouflaged elements. A new front fascia, for example, will almost certainly be part of the update.

So soon? I never did like this design, it's not proportional at all. It has a big ol butt and a small little head (hood slopes downward).
I guess they'll wait to see what bmw comes up for the interior and will "borrow" the design

It's too early to tell, but it looks like they're going with quad headlights??
