Bugatti building a car faster than the Veyron ?

It seems every month there’s a new story about Bugatti adding a second model to its lineup but until now these supposed new models have never surpassed the current Veyron supercar in terms of performance or price. The latest rumored Bugatti is tipped to overshadow not only the Veyron’s uber €1 million price tag but it’s also claimed to output 1,175hp and reach speeds in excess of 400km/h.
The guys at Auto Motor und Sport have come up with a series of drawings of the car, which shares more of a resemblance with a Le Mans racer than a luxurious grand tourer. That’s because the new model is designed for the race track, but if built it will still be a fully capable road going car. If built, expect to see a Nurburgring track time of around 6m 40s.
According to the source, the project is yet to receive the green light and is still carrying its skunk works title of ‘Project Lydia’ – the name of Bugatti’s wife. The car was originally due for release next year with a rumored price tag of €2.5 million but VW Group CEO Martin Winterkorn has apparently put the project on hold.

If this is true. DAMN that is one sexy car.
Hopefully add the door mechanism from Koenigsegg.
There is one company that makes a car similar to this.
One thing if this is true, hopefully they can have the drag coefficient be around 0.26-0.3

When, though, is fast enough, fast enough? Even the speed-oriented guys at Car and Driver, Road and Track, and the other enthusiast mags are showing concern over the grossly overpowered levels of some of today's top-level cars....and when THAT happens, you know that enough may be enough.
At this rate, eventually some auto manufacturer will figure out a way to strap on the old Saturn V rocket booster from the Apollo moon launches that provided 7,610,000 lbs. of thrust at take-off......and emptied a fuel tank the size of an Olympic swimming pool in 30 seconds.

Veyron maybe fast, but ferrari is dangerously close to taking their title back with the new Enzo replacement coming out in a year.
The Veyron needed 4 Turbos to beat cars like the Ferrari Enzo, Koenigsegg and the McLaren F1. Could you imagine doing the same to either one of the three cars I have just mentioned?

i think it's different designs to achieve different things. while being scary fast, i think the veyron wanted to achieve top speed, which they did win i believe, and you need hp for that (thus the 1000)
i remember reading few tests that already say the car being so heavy and what not, handling might not be the best already (comparing to say, the mclaren f1)
