My appreciation to USA...
Back in my country we were poor as hell... so poor that our house had one car, another words, it was everybody's car. I found these pics, this is what we rolled in back in the day. BTW, Im from Colombia. Thank god for everything i have now, check out the rides anyways... this is the SIMCA 1000 BABY!!!! rear wheel drive, rear engine, **** broke down all the time
Rob
Update, the owner of this car from back then, has prostate cancer, he's my godfather, my dad, my buddy, taught me how to drive, showed me how to play chess, never did we miss a meal bc of him. Most of all he's my idol. If it wasm't for him i would have never came to the states, he means the world to me, so if you can find it in your hearts to squeeze out a prayer for uncle ROD, that would be awesome, god bless you.
I apologize if i put this in the wrong section, i just needed to get this out, have a good night and be well.

It's always nice to appreciate what we have, no matter where we came from.
For now, most of us have Lexus. I remember when I was a kid, my parents were able to fit themselves and 4 kids in a Tercel.
I'm just happy that we did have a car in the first place when thinking of other people who can't afford one car at all.
It's healthy to sometimes take a step back and take a good look: we're pretty damn lucky to drive the cars we want, chat about it on-line with our expensive computers, and know that we're with good company at all times.

My family and I are very grateful and thankful for what we have. 10-15 years ago, we would've never imagined we would have what we have today.
I have to agree that its crazy nice to have the things I have today! My parents were coming out of welfare when they had me but youd think I was spoiled because of the things they have today. No complaints about life from me!
our first family car...
the Kia "Pride"
i think it was...1991? (my parents were married in 1985)
before that it was a Kia Bongo van....
then we upgraded to a Hyundai Elantra in Seoul
In Australia my dad bought our first Toyota

and since then we haven't looked back.

And yes, its good to realize what we all have. Be generous when you can and thankful for everything you have...
(not to mention not having everyone belted up either)
That just shows you how well Toyotas were built then.

So at the time, no airbags in those cars yet, and I don't know if there was a law against holding a child in your arms instead of a baby seat.
Dad and my older brother in front. My mom + baby bro, sis, and I in the back. If my youngest bro was a baby, then I would have been 4, my sister 8, and my older brother 10. Yeah, we fit.
I wish I had a picture of my first car......1979 Dodge Omni, with the Volkswagen engine. Thing ran for freaking ever! I had to let it go when the floorboard wanted me to drive it like Fred Flintstone.
The only thing that car was good for, IMO, was FWD snow traction in an age when few cars sold in America could say that.
