TORRANCE, Calif. — Toyota announced on Thursday that it has increased the price on its base 2008 Sequoia SUV by $990 over the outgoing model. The 2008 Sequoia will start at $34,835, including a $685 destination charge, when it goes on sale in late December.
The top-of-the-line 2008 Toyota Sequoia Platinum 4x4 model carries a Lexus-like $56,285 price tag, including shipping. Toyota did not offer a Sequoia Platinum model in 2007. The top-of-the-line model last year was the Sequoia Limited 4x4, which started at $46,345, including shipping. For 2008, the Sequoia Limited grade with the standard 5.7-liter V8 starts at $45,910 for the 4x2 model.
The Platinum model includes such deluxe items as 20-inch diamond-cut-finish aluminum wheels, rear load-leveling air suspension, a power front seat memory package, heated and air-conditioned ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a power rear door, a tilt and slide sunroof, headlamp cleaners and a navigation system with a back-up camera.
What this means to you: You'll pay more for the redesigned Sequoia, and the new Platinum model is squarely in Lexus territory when it comes to pricing and content. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
I for one Love the Sequoia, the starting price is good for such a emense SUV i think, but the limited trim is already in the GX 470 pricing territory, and the Platunim model is whoa! theres must be a big difference in interior and engine grade refinement for an almost 10k difference between model grades. Hell i could get a used 2007 LX 470 for the price of a platinum Sequoia.

THat Platinum line is very expensive. I knew it was going to be up there. But think of it as Toyotas version of the Yukon Denali. That truck with almost the same features as the Sequoia is 56 grand as well (check it out on GMC website).
But my only beef is that it has the same cheap interior as a 25K Tundra pickup and we all know that interior isnt of the highest quality. All the Lexus like features in the Platinum model is probably what drives up the price, but as a total package, is it really worth almost 60K?? I dont think so, but it sure seems like a bargain compared to the $70k+ Land Cruiser if you ask me.

lol at you guys :P.
Up here, our OLD Sequoia Limtied 4x4 is $66k... yep. Cdn$66k!!! That's more than an RX330/350. That's almost GS300/350 territory.
I wonder how much the new one will cost?

Does it really what??
Its the same exact dashboard with different color leather seats. Nothing has really changed except adding an extra row of seats and a hatch.
Again, though it is a high starting price for the Platinum, its very competitive with the Yukon Denali. 56K on the Denali still wont give you all the features the Platinum offers.

The 3rd row seat in the Seqouia is quite roomy compared to the 3rd row seating in the Tahoe/Suburban. Toyota is boasting that all seating positions can accomodate people 6' tall without a hitch.
