Lamborghini developing Murcielago SV
With the Murcielago nearing the end of its life cycle, Lamborghini is looking to send off its supercar with a bang. The Italian automaker will reportedly offer a more powerful and lighter weight version of the Murcielago under the SV nameplate.
Rumored to arrive in late 2008, the SV will offer more horsepower than the Reventon's 640 ponies and will weigh in 100 kg less than the standard Murcielago.
To save weight, the SV will forgo the Murcielago four-wheel drive system for a lighter rear-wheel drive setup. The SV will also swap the Murcielago's automatic spoilers for a fixed set and will wear lighter wheels. Many interior pieces will also be made of carbon fiber to save weight.
Lamborghini's E-gear will be standard, but shift times will be decreased by half.

Any news on price?
Speaking of Murcielagos, half the time when I go to McCarran (airport here in Vegas) there is a Murcielago parked in long-term valet... it was there again today. I dunno, I'm not sure I'll ever be one to leave a supercar in an airport garage for a week or two when I go on a trip.

Wow, HALF the time of the shifts? well, what is the time for it then?
Also I've been wondering as well, is E-gear = DSG? if not, I'd say slap a DSG in them, I've driven my friend's GTI many times, and it's pretty good, there'll be some times of jerkyness esp. when cold engine... but it's relatively smooth otherwise. And quick.
