G35 is well equipped and gives the driver control. Since you will be hauling family, perhaps the G35's bigger brother the M45 fits the bill?

The Jag has stunning looks, but I'd have to agree to stay away from it...a real shame, considering it's such a desirable car. They are just too unreliable.

Go with the Infiniti.....or, if you live in an area where you get slick roads, look at the G35X AWD version. I also agree with DASHOCKER's suggestion to check out the M35 or M45, also available RWD or AWD.....they will cost more than the G series, but have been reliable like the G.

The newer Lexus GS series has not been as reliable overall as its predecessors, and Consumer Reports has withdrawn its Recommended rating for some versions.

I don't necessarily agree with, however, the suggestion to check out the Mercedes E500, despite the car's reputation for safety and the fact that you have kids. ALL of the Mercedes products sold in the American market have been well-below-average in reliability for years....in some cases, worse than the Jaguars.

The best bet for reliability, IMO, is clearly the Infinitis.

 

how about a used ls, u can can a 2004/2005 with decently low miles on it for about 35 grand and if not just a little bit higher

Fine, but speed is not the only thing to think about when buying a car. Doesn't do any good to own a dragster if you lose your license from tickets and can't drive it.

Having said that, though, the Infiniti M-series, I agree, are generally good choices. Though I personally could do without the I-Drive-type "controller" on the dash, they are reliable, have much-improved interiors over other recent Infiniti products, drive and handle well, have AWD options for traction, and, yes.........they will get out of their own way.
