Think about it this way, if price is a factor and a cheaper Audi A8 beats the more expensive LS600hL, then why not just buy that? If the S8 is a better value for the money, that's fine, but even if its not, there's a cheaper A8 that's a better car does it really matter?
I haven't noticed that either. If anything, I see the new S Class around every other corner in the city. I live on long island and I don't see many new LSs around here either. Tons of ESs/ISs everywhere though.
The article made it sound like price was the main differentiator. They should either have compared the LS460 to the A8 or the S8 to the LS600hL. One of Lexus' huge advantages over the German competition is what you get for the money.
The A8L seems like a chauffeur's car...where as the Lamborghini V10 S8 is more a driver's car.
Either way, if I were in the market...I really dunno. But I think it's great that Lexus is offering something like a LS600hL to expand the market even more instead of just going after the ultimate AMG S class.
If a cheaper car beat the LS600hL, then why would they need to compare a more expensive, better car to the LS? It already lost to the little brother of the S8
kind of... except that LS has a lot more equipment.
Thats a lot like comparing 74k LS460 to S600 and saying it is a lot cheaper and gets better fuel mileage.
It forget to mention the type of A8 is being use to compare with. Audi has a lot of add-ons like different type of packages. Overall i think i'll pick a Audi over a Lexus...
or i could be bias here, cuz i'm currently a proud owner of an A6 S-Line.. still love lexus and this forum...

Agreed. S-Classes dominate Manhattan. I see a lot of 7s and A8s, and am seeing more LSes as well, but by and large S-Classes rule.
The sales figures for the different models and classes never seem to jive with what I actually see. Oh well.
