Hello, this weekend I will be looking at a 2004 Toyota Prius for $16,000 obo @ 20k miles. Is this ok? I will be going through a private party. Any pointers before I head out... This is what I have so far on my list, please add anything:
1. Check carfax
2. How much should I bargain?
3. What to look for in the hood?
4. Test drive

If the car is automatic, pull the tranny dipstick, wipe the fluid on your fingers and see if theres a burnt smell. burnt smell = future trans problems

Get under the car and look for leaks.
